Cooling Centers Open In Darien During Excessive Heat Warning
The library and police station will be open in Darien to help anyone seeking to escape the heat.
DARIEN, IL — Those looking to stay cool in Darien during this three-day excessive heat warning have a couple of options. Cooling centers in town include the Indian Prairie Public Library, 401 Plainfield Road and the Darien Police Department, the city said in a news release ahead of the heat warning.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The police station will be able to assist when the library is not open, the city said.
