Darien Police Reports: Controlled Substance, DUI, Theft, Burglary

Valerij Dobroserdcev, 26 of the 7700 block of Green Valley Court in Darien, was arrested June 20 and charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police report Dobroserdcev had a white powdery substance and cigarette filters with burnt heroin residue. Several callers made an anonymous tip that there was a suspicious/intoxicated person in the Darien Towne Center parking lot located in the 2100 block of 75th Street. Dobroserdcev was processed and taken to the DuPage County Jail in Wheaton to await a bond hearing.

David Fennema, 49 of the 5800 block of S. Bodin Street in Hinsdale, was arrested June 20 and charged with driving under the influence and improper parking on roadway at a traffic light in the intersection of Clarendon Hills Road and 75th Street. Fennema was processed and released with a court date of July 26 in Wheaton.

Joy Hojnacki, 40 of the 500 block of 61st Street in Westmont, was arrested June 21 and charged with retail theft when police say she tried to remove two bottles of alcohol and various grocery items past the last point of sale from Jewel Osco, 7335 Cass Avenue. Hojnacki was processed and released on scene with a court date pending at the Downers Grove Field Court. Estimated value of merchandise $32.

Geraldo Ortiz, 47 of the 4500 block of S. Wood Street in Chicago, was arrested June 21 and charged with driving while license revoked in the 8100 block of Lemont Road. Ortiz called for police assistance for a crash when his car was hit from behind by another car. Ortiz was processed and released with a court date of July 7 at the Downers Grove Field Court.

Between 5 and 5:45 p.m. June 23, someone entered an unlocked car in the parking lot of the Lindenwood Park at 7901 Cass Avenue and stole a wallet that contained $80.

Joseph Giaquinta, 23 of the 5500 block of Lakeside Drive in Lisle, was arrested June 23 and charged with driving while license suspended, no valid registration and speeding in the 7800 block of Lemont Road. Giaquinta was processed and released with a court date of July 7 at the Downers Grove Field Court.

Lindsay Caliendo, 30 of the 2300 block of Beau Monde Boulevard in Lisle, was arrested June 25 and charged with no valid driver’s license – expired more than a year and disobeying a stop sign on 71st Street and Exner Road. Caliendo was released on scene with a court date of July 21 at the Downers Grove Field Court.
