Darien Police Reports: Property Damage, Car Burglary, DUI

Darien Police Department reported crimes through July 10.

An employee of the Carriage Green Country Club, 8700 Carriage Greens Drive, reported that while on routine maintenance duties July 5 he noticed one of the golf holes was destroyed. Someone lit fireworks in the golf cup. The estimated value of damage is $1,000.

A resident reported that between 2:45 a.m. and 6:13 a.m. July 5, someone broke a window and stole a purse from the front seat of a locked car in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 8400 block of Captons Lane.

Lori Foy, 49 of the 0-100 block of E. Division in Remmington, Indiana, was arrested July 6 and charged with driving under the influence, BAC over .08, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in the 8100 block of Cass Avenue. Foy was processed and released with a court date of Aug. 9 in Wheaton.

A resident in the 1700 block of Boulder reported July 10 that he discovered an unauthorized charge made with his debit card July 10. He stated he still had his card on him. The number was used to make a purchase of $336 at a grocery store. The resident immediately contacted his banking institution and cancelled the debit card.

  • The Darien Police Department would like to remind residents to check their statements monthly or transactions daily for any discrepancies. Notify your banking institution immediately. And run a credit report check at least once a year.

A resident in the 6700 block of High Road reported that between July 10 at about 10 p.m. and July 11 at 2:30 p.m., someone entered an unlocked car in a driveway. Clothing, cash and a store card were stolen with an estimated value of $55.
