This Darien Restaurant Wants To Serve Liquor
Darien's mayor has no objection to the eatery's request.
DARIEN, IL — Blueberry Hill Café is asking Darien for permission to serve liquor.
According to a village memo, Darien Mayor Joseph Marchese, who serves as the liquor commissioner, does not oppose the request. The City Council is expected to vote on it at Monday's meeting.
Recently, the restaurant, 7340 Illinois Route 83, requested the addition of liquor to its menu. It says it wants to mainly serve mimosas and bloody marys, but also may have beer and wine.

"We do not have a bar, so this will be table service only with alcohol being served by a server," Steve Zervakis of Blueberry Hill said in an email to Marchese.
This service is already available at Blueberry Hill's Oak Brook location, and it has been successful, Zervakis said.
