Darien Starts New Community Garden
Indian Prairie Library will be starting its community garden on Saturday, May 20.

DARIEN, IL — A new community garden will be coming to Indian Prairie Public Library this month. The community garden will be built from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 20.
According to a release from the library, the gardens will be maintained by volunteers and it's a project shared with the founders of Good Worx/Sunny Patch Project.
The library said all of the food grown will be shared with at-risk families.

Sunny Patch already has a community garden on the grounds of the Safety Village of Darien at 7400 Cass Ave., which is open throughout the month on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to the Sunny Patch website, they are calling the pop-up garden patch at the library the Prairie Patch.
