Darien Woman Accused Of Domestic Violence: Police

The suspect was taken to jail after an incident in a car, report says.

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Police Department released its latest blotter. Here is information from the reports:

Domestic violence

  • Donna Beaman, 60, of Darien, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15 on a charge of domestic battery. The incident occurred in a car. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • Richard Williams, 47, of Westmont, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 7500 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage. According to a police report, he was stopped after drifting left from the right lane and then correcting back into the right lane. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Matthew Sager, 27, of Tinley Park, was arrested about 9 p.m. Feb. 16 in the 7600 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, improper stopping on a roadway and open transportation of alcohol by a driver. According to a police report, Sager was stopped after an officer saw him swerving into another lane without signaling. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Sam Joseph, 60, of Chicago, was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, not driving on the right side of a four-lane road, driving onto the median and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. According to a police report, an officer saw Joseph's car stuck in the median of Cass Avenue at Interstate 55. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Retail theft

  • Employees saw two people at the self-checkout scanning only some of their items and concealing products that were not scanned about 4:30 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 2189 75th St. One of them, Zyad Benyaich, 20, of Chicago, was arrested on a charge of retail theft. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • Marcel Phillips, 24, of Lombard, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 16 on Cass Avenue near Darien Club Drive on charges of driving an uninsured motor vehicle and improper display of registration. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Levontea Walker, 23, of Woodridge, was cited about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 17 near 75th and Adams streets on charges of driving with a license that has been expired for more than a year and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Khari Smith, 23, of Darien, was cited at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 2900 block of 87th Street on charges of driving with a license that has been expired for more than a year and improper lane usage. The suspect was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Juliana Owoo-Battlet, 53, of Chicago, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in the 7300 block of Clarendon Hills Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Zakiya Rowe, 29, of Chicago, was cited at 1 p.m. Friday at 75th Street and Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license. According to police, she was stopped after disobeying a traffic signal and completing a U-turn. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
