Darien Woman's Club NEW Community ART PROJECT
All Communities Welcome to Participate! Let's show our Local Heroes how much we Care!

For the last few months, the club's Art Committee has been developing an appropriate project to sponsor in lieu of our annual Youth Art Fair & Exhibit. The club has hosted that event for over 40 years and members were motivated to keep Youth Art awareness alive somehow.
The Darien Woman’s Club is excited to announce a new project open to all members of the community!! Our project is called We HeART our Heroes.
We are inviting anyone in the community who wants to create a piece of art to thank the teachers, doctors, nurses, food workers, first responders and all others who have worked so hard to care for those affected by the pandemic. The club will prepare 6’ x 6” cardboard art canvas kits that will be in marked bins at area schools, Darien City Hall, and Darien Park District after April 8th. The kits will be available at Indian Prairie Library after April 26th. Importantly, it is for adults, and youth; but most especially an opportunity for families to work on together!

It will be posted on the club's Facebook page with more information and DIY directions if you cannot get to a Bin location to pick up a kit.

Ideas and inspiration will also be posted on our Instagram account @darienwomansclub
We ask that people return the finished art pieces to the bins by May 21. The Darien Woman’s Club will connect the finished pieces to create larger pieces that will be displayed at various locations around the city. Think of it as similar to sewing squares together to make a quilt! We hope to keep these displays up throughout the summer so everyone gets a chance to see and appreciate the art.
I hope you will join me and support the Darien Woman’s Club We HeART our Heroes project by designing your own “Thank You” piece and helping to heal our community
Thank you!
