Drunk Driver Rams Into DuPage County Sheriff's Car: Darien Police Blotter

...It didn't turn out so well for him.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past several weeks.

DUIs

  • Robert Allison, 34, was charged with driving drunk after he hit a DuPage County Sheriff’s car at 12:49 a.m. Feb. 17. According to police reports, Allison, who’s from Orland Park, was driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the accident and failed to slow down as he approached the other car. He’s expected in court March 28 at the DuPage Judicial Center.
  • Matthew Sokol, 42, of Lemont, was stopped at 2:19 a.m. Feb. 18 for speeding in the 7900 block of Lemont Road. After observing him, the responding police officer determined he was driving drunk and also cited him for speeding and driving with a suspended license.

  • A Darien resident living in the 8100 block of Farmingdale Drive told police that sometime between 9 p.m. Feb. 17 and 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18, someone had stolen a locked car from his driveway. The estimated total loss of the car is $5,851.
