Emma Tucker, 16-Year Old From Darien, Dies

Emma Tucker was a beloved Darien resident who went on a motorcycle sidecar ride in her wheelchair with the Illinois Patriot Guard.

DARIEN, IL — Services are set for a young Darien resident who died this week. Emma Tucker, 16 died of complications related to congestive heart failure, her father Charlie Tucker said. A visitation for Emma will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Downers Grove and a funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at Our Lady of Peace Church. Emma had struggled with medical issues since she was young, receiving a heart transplant at age 2 and was later in a wheelchair.

In 2017, the Illinois Patriot Guard came to Darien to escort her on a motorcycle sidecar ride. That was her wish at age 14 since she loved her dad's motorcycle.
