Darien Continues To See Low Virus Rate Hikes: County
The number of coronavirus deaths in the city has remained the same for months.
DARIEN, IL — Darien saw a 1.1 percent increase last week in the total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic's beginning, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
As of Sunday, Darien had a total of 1,537 coronavirus cases, up 17 from a week before. (Those who check the department's website will see a larger increase in the last week. That is because the agency last week started tabulating "probable" cases in addition to "confirmed" cases. Patch is sticking with the "confirmed cases" number, which the department has tracked since the start of the crisis.)
The city's number of local coronavirus deaths has remained the same for months, totaling 18. That works out to less than a thousandth of Darien's population.
