Knife Threats, Mailbox Maimer, Drug Arrest: Darien Police Blotter

The following crimes were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. As a reminder, an arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.
Battery
- Melissa Forbes, 35, of Geneva was arrested Nov. 24 for threatening several people on the 7700 block of Brunswick with a knife and hitting them in the face with her hands. She was arrested and charged with domestic battery, unlawful use of a weapon and battery before being sent to DuPage County Jail.
- A victim reported Nov. 26 that they were kicked and beaten by four unknown men at the corner of Plainfield Road and Seminole Drive. No other information is available right now.
- In a strange encounter, a woman reported being approached by a man in her car just before 3 a.m. Nov. 27. The man talked to the woman and then hip her in the lip with his hand. He then left the area, and there are no charges as of right now.
- Police officers responded to a report of battery at 4:51 a.m. Nov. 27 at Woodsprings Suites on Frontage Road. A manager was approached by a man who stated he had reservations for a room, and after talking, a sign was thrown.
Domestic abuse

- Marjorie Thompson, 46, of Darien was arrested Nov. 25 and charged with two counts of domestic battery for hitting someone in her home in the face with her hand. She’s been sent to DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- Goran Radenkovic, 42, was arrested Nov. 27 for speeding and driving under the influence on the 1700 block of 75th Street.
Theft

- A resident reported their wallet stolen from Q Bar at 8109 Cass Ave. on Nov. 25. The estimated value of loss is $20.
Property damage
- A Darien resident living on the 7600 block of Farmingdale Drive reported on Nov. 25 that someone had damaged their mailbox overnight. The estimated value of the damage is $100.
- Another resident living on the 300 block of Janet Avenue reported something similar; overnight, their mailbox had also been damaged. The estimated value of loss here was $50.
Drugs
- Christopher Hall, 23, was arrested when he was reported unconscious in a car at 2189 75th St. on Nov. 26. He was found with a plastic bag of white residue in the passenger seat and part of a hypodermic needle in the center console, and was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Disorderly conduct
- Officers responded to a report of a man yelling from the roof of a house on Farmingdale Drive around 8 pm. Nov. 27. The Tri-State fire department also responded, and together officers helped the man down and evaluated him before he was released.
