Latest Update On Darien Dunkin' And Padrino's
The building project has suffered a number of delays.
DARIEN, IL — Dunkin' Donuts is expected to open by week's end in its new building at the northwest corner of Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road, a Darien official said earlier this week.
Padrino's Pizza, which is in the same building, is expected to open soon after, Dan Gombac, the city's municipal services director, told the City Council on Monday.
Gombac said he knows it has been a long time coming. The building project has suffered a number of delays. It was estimated to be as much as three months behind.

Last year, the city approved a $150,000 incentive for the developer, John Manos, to upgrade the architecture because of the building's high-profile location. He also owns Brookhaven Plaza.
Gombac last reported to the council on the status of the project in early April. At the time, he said the project's superintendent was "a little bit of a novice."
