Masked Vandal Sends Message At Darien Complex: Cops

Darien police stop a man driving a car connected to a Willowbrook domestic incident, report says.

DARIEN, IL — Last week, Darien police handled cases involving a masked vandal, a Willowbrook domestic incident, a hit-and-run crash, a Woodridge DUI suspect, a car burglary and a hit-and-run crash. Here is information from the reports:

Masked vandal

  • Video shows that a hooded and masked suspect defaced the glass of the door for the pool clubhouse at the Idyllwild Apartments, 1526 Lakeview Drive, about 11 p.m. July 1. The suspect wrote a statement that police said was derogatory toward an employee at the apartments.

Willowbrook domestic

  • Larry Massey, 28, of Villa Park, was seen speeding 85 mph in a 45 mph zone about 2 a.m. June 28 at 75th Street and Route 83. His car matched the description of one involved in a domestic incident in unincorporated Willowbrook. A DuPage County deputy took Massey into custody. In Darien, Massey was cited on charges of speeding more than 35 mph above the limit and disobeying a traffic signal. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Woodridge DUI suspect

  • Edgar Reyes, 36, of Woodridge, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday near Lemont Road and 83rd Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, tinted windows and no front license plate. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Hit-and-run crash

  • Danesha Johnson, 26, of Bolingbrook, was cited about 4 p.m. June 29 in a hit-and-run accident. She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage, driving with a suspended license, failure to give aid at an attended accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, child safety restraint violation and disobeying a traffic signal. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Driving violations

  • Ajay Tidwell, 23, of Willowbrook, was cited June 29 on Clarendon Hills Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was speeding 51 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Car burglary

  • About $30 in change was removed from the center console of a car overnight July 1 in the 500 block of 72nd Street.
