Moms Connect

Moms Connect will begin a new year on September 13, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church located at 7214 South Cass Avenue in Darien, IL. The group meets each Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. through May 15, 2020 on weeks when the church's preschool is in session.

Deaconess Phaedra Serbus, a wife, mother and Director of Youth & Family Ministry, facilitates the group. It is open to community moms as well as those associated with the church and its preschool. Complimentary childcare is provided.

At Moms Connect, you can expect to find an inviting atmosphere geared to making new friends and to providing practical parenting resources. Moms Connect brings women together and helps them connect through faith-based discussion.

This year’s initial focus will be based on the book, The 5 Love Languages of Children: The Secret to Loving Children Effectively by Dr. Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell, M.D. Moms love their child, but how can they make sure their child knows this? We will explore how to speak your child’s particular love language in practical ways that he or she understands. This will enable you to strengthen your relationship with your child based on a foundation of unconditional love. By doing so, your child’s learning and behavior can be positively impacted.
