New Details Emerge in Case of Darien Robbery

The robbery took place at Chase Bank on Friday.

New details have emerged in the case of a Darien robbery that took place late Friday morning, officials have reported.

A suspect described as a black male in his twenties and standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 allegedly robbed Chase Bank at 7501 Cass Ave. just after 11 a.m., police said. He was wearing a dark bandana with white stars, a black knit hat and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

The man, also described as heavyset, reportedly walked into the bank, showed a teller a note and demanded money. He allegedly indicated he had a weapon, according to Darien city officials, but police said it wasn't shown.
