Restaurant Theft, DUIs: Darien Police

A $1,300 phone is stolen at a local eatery, report says.

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Police Department released its latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the police reports:

Phone stolen at restaurant

  • A phone was stolen between 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese, 7409 Cass Ave. The loss was estimated at $1,300.

  • Luis Arteaga, 46, of Bolingbrook, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 7500 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, endangering the health or life of a child, transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no registration plate on a vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Rick Nigro, 56, of Chicago, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday near Cass Avenue and Interstate 55 on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Driving violations

  • Louis Alday, 31, of Westmont, was cited about 5:30 p.m. April 19 at Cass Avenue and North Frontage Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and following too closely. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Brandon Bailey, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 11:30 p.m. April 19 in the 8300 block of Lemont Road on charges of driving with a suspended license, transportation of open alcohol and speeding. He was going 57 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Derek Evans, 26, of Westmont, was cited about 4 p.m. April 21 near 67th Street and Wilmette Avenue on a warrant charging failure to appear in court and on a charge of speeding. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Joseph Joyce, 30, of Lemont, was cited about 11 p.m. April 21 in the 900 block of Plainfield Road on charges of no valid registration and possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Anna Ruiz, 21, of Bolingbrook, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Sunday near Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road on charges of driving without a license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
