Rose Matousek, 92 of Hinsdale, Handwriting Analyst, Author

Rose Matousek, long time Hinsdale resident, author, teacher and handwriting analyst, died March 5. She was 92.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 18 at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale.
Matousek was the beloved wife of James and the mother of Cherie Matousek and Lana Kosina. She was grandmother to Travis Alexander, Cameron and Allison Kosina, and she was great grandmother to Blake Alexander, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Matousek was an alumna of J. Sterling Morton High School, and she studied at Morton Junior College.
She wrote and self-published four books, including “Graphodynamics,” “Pen Detection-The importance of the Downstroke,” “ABC’s of Handwriting Analysis” and “Graphology and the Phenomenon of Writing.”

Matousek is also credited with helping extract books on handwriting analysis from libraries’ occult section, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. She was also a founding member of the American Association of Handwriting Analysts.
She once put her analyst skills to the test on a murder investigation. She lectured, taught and consulted on handwriting matters.
