SEASPAR Golf Classic Raises Funds for Recreational Services for People with Disabilities

The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) hosted its annual Golf Classic fundraiser on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Village Greens of Woodridge.

Forty golfers participated in the four-person team scramble tournament. Foursomes competing included representatives from the Woodridge Park District, Darien Park District, Lemont Park District, Lisle Park District, and Community Bank of Downers Grove.

The winning team was the Westberg family, friends of SEASPAR, with a score of eight under par. Putting and driving contests also kept the competition lively. An awards ceremony, buffet dinner, and raffle concluded the event.

More than $5,000 was raised to support SEASPAR’s recreational programs and services for individuals with disabilities served by the park districts of Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Westmont, and Woodridge, and the villages of Brookfield, Indian Head Park, and Western Springs.

“The Woodridge Park District was excited to again host SEASPAR’s annual Golf Classic,” said Mike Adams, Vice President of the SEASPAR Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Woodridge Park District. “The Woodridge Park District is a strong advocate of SEASPAR and the program opportunities they provide for our residents with special needs. Providing a venue in which to raise funds to support this great organization while we ‘Take Time for Fun!’® is a great honor.”
