Shot Fired, Bike Stolen: Darien Cops

A resident reported a shot was fired through a kitchen window, police say.

DARIEN, IL — Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

  • Someone shot a bullet through a kitchen window between 6 p.m. May and 6 a.m. May 3 in the 3000 block of Beller Drive. The loss was estimated at $1,000.
  • A bicycle was stolen between 3:45 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. May 5 at Smart Oaks Park, 1500 N. Frontage Road. Darien police recovered the bicycle that evening, but the police report did not provide details.
  • Trashawn Harper, 27, of Willowbrook, was cited about 11 p.m. May 3 in the 8200 block of Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Jeffrey Loving, 25, of Romeoville, was arrested about 12:15 a.m. May 6 in the 8900 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was speeding 61 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Luis Soto Lozano, 21, of Summit, was cited about 2 a.m. Friday in the area of Cass Avenue at 75th Street on charges of no valid driver's license and prohibited lights. His lights were purple. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • About 4 a.m. May 7, an officer saw two cars headed west in the 1100 block of 75th Street disobeying a traffic signal. Jazzmine Batts, 25, of Gary, Indiana, was cited for driving with a suspended license and disobeying a traffic signal. Dominique Hogan, 30, of Chicago Heights, was cited on charges of disobeying a traffic signal, improper backing of a vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. They were released and given a date to appear in court.
