Super Bowl DUIs, Burglaries: Darien Police Blotter

Take a look at what the Darien police have been up to.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

DUI

  • Roy Biomarz, 61, was stopped by police for speeding around midnight on Feb. 6. He was pulled over in the 500 block of Plainfield Road and subsequently arrested for driving drunk, speeding and improper lane usage. Biomarz, who’s from Countryside, is expected in court March 14.
  • Arvydas Danila, 44, from Downers Grove, was arrested at 1:31 a.m. Feb. 7 when police saw him run a red light at Lyman Road and 75th Street. He was charged with drinking and driving, disobeying a traffic signal and driving an uninsured car. He’s expected in court March 14.

Residential burglary

  • A Darien resident living in the 8900 block of Middleton Road reported a home break-in Feb. 7, according to police reports. The victim said someone broke into their house between 10:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. that day through the front door and stole jewelry. The total loss is currently unknown.

Burglary

  • Darien cops responded to a burglary alarm that went off at 12:52 a.m. on Feb. 9 at the Tobacco Nest at 6818 Kingery Highway. Someone had tried to break into the business by shattering the glass on the front door. No entry was made, and nothing was stolen.

Traffic violations

  • Anthony Garcia, 18, a Woodridge resident, was stopped at 12:04 a.m. on Feb. 9 at 75th Street and Lyman Avenue for a traffic violation and charged with that, operating a car without insurance and a suspended registration and driving without a license.
