Thieves Stole Leaf Blowers, Motor Oil and Gas Tanks Last Week: Darien Police

A hit-and-run also made an appearance on last week's blotter.

The following items appeared on last week's Darien police blotter. As a reminder, an arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.

Hit-and-run

  • Someone reported to Darien police that around 9 a.m. Nov. 28, someone in a green Ford Explorer rear-ended him and then drove off on Lemont Road.

Retail theft

  • Sonia Gueorguieva, 52, of Westmont was arrested when she tried to steal two containers of motor oil at a Walmart on 75th Street. The value of the two jugs tallied up to roughly $25.

Car burglary

  • Someone living on the 100 block of 68th Street reported that on Nov. 29 between noon and 3:15 p.m., someone had broken into their trailer and stolen two leaf blowers and a 6-gallon gas tank. The trailer was parking in the resident’s driveway at the time, adn the total amount lost in the burglary was $920.

  • Tyree Johnson, 19, was arrested Nov. 28 for driving with a suspended license, suspended registration and no insurance.
