Walmart Thief, Domestic Abuse Charges, Arrests: Darien Police Blotter

Take a look at what the Darien police have been up to for the past week.

The following crimes were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. The Darien police remind everyone that an arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.

Retail theft

  • Hope Bradbury, 19, was arrested for retail theft when she tried to steal makeup and hair dye from the Walmart at 2189 75th St. The items totaled $69.99 and were returned to the store when Bradbury was caught trying to walk out of the Walmart.

Domestic abuse

  • Azamatbek Mametjanov, 37, who lives on Country Lane in Darien, was charged with two counts of domestic battery Dec. 7. The cops took Mametjanov to the DuPage County Judicial Center in Wheaton for a bond hearing, but police didn’t specify the domestic dispute at hand.

Property damage

  • A Darien resident living on the 7400 block of Brookdale Drive reported on Dec. 7 that a neighbor’s door had been damaged. The resident called around 1:25 p.m. and told the police it looked like the door had been forced open, but when the home’s owner arrived, nothing looked like it was missing.

Outstanding warrant

  • Richard Williams, 42, who’s from Westmont, was arrested Dec. 7 on an outstanding warrant for not appearing in court. He was charged and given a new court date of Jan. 10.
