Wind Advisory Issued For Cook, DuPage Counties
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of Northern Illinois.

DARIEN, IL — A wind advisory has been issued for several communities in Northern Illinois, including Cook and DuPage County. According to the National Weather Service, the wind advisory will remain in effect until 8 p.m. May 17.
The National Weather Service said the timing of the advisory is midday through evening, and winds will be south to southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph.
According to a release, the NWS advised that loose, lightweight objects may be blown around. Minor tree or property damage is also possible. The winds are caused as deep low pressure develops over the plains and lifts into the upper Mississippi valley through this evening.

Thunderstorms are also possible later today, according to the National Weather Service.
