Man Chases Parents, Fires Shots At Their Car In Decatur: Cops

Police say a 30-year-old man is in custody, facing several charges after high-speed chase, shooting at parents inside car.

DECATUR, IL — A man is in police custody after shooting at his parents in their car following a high-speed chase southwest of Chicago. Herald-Review reported Decatur police Sergeant Steve Carroll said the incident began around 5 a.m. Friday at the home of 30-year-old Casey Wiley's parents in Mount Zion. According to the news report, Carroll said Wiley chased his parents after they left in their car, with both cars reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.

Police say Wiley crashed at the intersection of U.S. 36 and 22nd St. in Decatur before leaving his car and shooting at his parents who were still inside their car, though neither of them were hurt.

According to police, Wiley ran to Lake Decatur where he was found and arrested by Decatur police, who add Wiley faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, vehicular hijacking,unlawful possession of body armor and driving under the influence, Herald-Review reported.
