Surprised Burglar Told Homeowner He Had The 'Wrong House'
A 25-year-old man is being held at Macon County Jail after being tracked down nearly five months after burglary.

DECATUR, IL — Police say a man accused of burglary was tracked down and arrested Saturday almost five months after he told a Decatur homeowner who confronted him that "he had the wrong house." Herald and Review reported that according to a sworn affidavit from Decatur police officer Jaime Hagemeyer, the burglary happened during the night of Feb. 15, and the 25-year-old burglar escaped the house by climbing through the window by which he entered.
Police said the homeowner took note of the registration of the burglar's getaway car and was able to pick him out of an electronic photo lineup.
Herald and Review reported the man was taken to Macon County Jail on a preliminary charge of residential burglary, where he remained on Monday The man remained in the Macon County Jail on Monday in place of $60,000 bond.
