College Credits: Deerfield Resident Caps Golf Season With Honors

Area students from Deerfield are doing amazing things at colleges and universities across the United States.

Deerfield High School Grad Named All-Conference Member

Kelly Storti, a 2016 Deerfield High School graduate, was recently honored at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. A five-year member of the golf team, Storti earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades for the 2021 season. Storti collects her second All-WIAC award after garnering first team accolades in 2019 and helped the Warhawks win their fourth straight WIAC Championship and reach the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, where the team finished 12th in the nation. Storti finished in a tie for 5th place at the WIAC Championship with a three-day average of 79.3 and lead the Warhawks at the season-opening Carthage Spring Invitational with a tie for sixth place.

Georgia State University Graduate Student Receives Academic Recognition

Georgia State University student Michelle Fox, of Deerfield, has received the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award in psychology. Fox is a psychology Ph.D. student in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Belmont University Announces Spring 2021 Dean's List

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2021 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses). Approximately 53 percent of Belmont's 6,170 undergraduate students qualified for the Spring 2021 Dean's List. Local students receiving recognition are:

  • Daphne Browdy, of Deerfield
  • Lilyana Shapkarov, of Riverwoods
