Deerfield 12 Red Caps Off 42-Win Season with Championship
The 12u Red Warriors finished its season with a 42-13-1 record, including 4 tournament championships
Following a strong 4-4 showing at Cooperstown’s All-Star Village a few weeks back, where the 12U Deerfield Warriors knocked off teams from California, New York (2), and New Jersey, Deerfield’s players, dads, and coaches all boarded flights back to Chicago itching for one final championship run in Highland Park’s Firecracker Tournament.
After a few hours of rest, the Warriors headed to West Ridge Park to knock off the hosting Highland Park Giants in their first pool play game, by a final score of 13-3.
The Warriors finished off pool play with a perfect 3-0 record by defeating Renegades (11-1) and Lake Zurich (10-6).
The Warriors entered the playoff round as the #2 overall seed, and matched up against the NSBA Hawks in the semi-finals. After posting 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning, the Warriors coasted to a 10-0 semi-final win.

The Warriors would face the #1 seed Kenosha in the Championship Game. After falling behind 3-0 early, the Warriors bounced back with 4 runs in the top of the 4th and 7 more runs in the top of the 5th to put up 11 unanswered runs in an 11-3 Championship Victory.
The 12u Red Warriors finished its season with a 42-13-1 record, including 4 tournament championships.
