Deerfield Parents Plan Car Rally To Support In-Person Schooling

Districts 109, 112 and 113 parents (covering Deerfield, Highland Park, Highwood, Fort Sheridan, Riverwoods) are organizing Saturday's rally.

DEERFIELD, IL — In conjunction with local rallies simultaneously being held across Illinois, residents in Illinois School Districts 109, 112 and 113 (covering Deerfield, Highland Park, Highwood, Fort Sheridan and Riverwoods) will participate in a car rally Saturday to show their support for in-person schooling in these school districts.

"Remote learning is negatively impacting students of all ages, and in light of mounting evidence that schools can safely resume in-person instruction, school districts need to create plans to increase the amount of students receiving in-person education," the organizers said in a news release.

Cars will meet at 10 a.m. at Highland Park High School. They will then caravan along this route (https://goo.gl/maps/VSRZyvoC2yN7m7BY9). The final route is subject to change. Participants will show their support for in-person learning in front of the respective school district ddministrative offices, local neighborhoods and certain schools. The rally will end at Deerfield High School.
