Deerfield Wrestlers Complete 'Decade Of Dominance' In CSL North
Warrior wrestlers have won the CSL North title for 10 consecutive years and topped full CSL conference for 6 years running.

DEERFIELD, IL — A decade of dominance for the Deerfield High School wrestling team continued, as the Warriors took the CSL North title for the 10th straight year. DHS varsity wrestlers also topped the individual honors at the 12-team CSL tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
Coach Marc Pecter said the year had not been"without its bumps," after losing wrestlers to graduation, transfers and injuries.
"For most meets, we had 12 newcomers to the varsity team, but they knew what was on the line every time they took to the mat during conference duels," he said.

Later in the year, he said, some of teams more experienced members returned from injury and helped the Warriors defeat larger CSL South schools.
Prior to 2009, DHS had not won a wrestling title for 41 years, according to Pechter.
