Boys, 15 and 17, Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting

MAINE TOWNSHIP, IL — Two teens have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred near Des Plaines last week, police said. The boys, ages 15 and 17, face murder charges in connection with the shooting, which happened in the 9500 block of North Greenwood Drive, authorities say.

Police responded to the area at about 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 28 where they found Hussein Darma, 20, of unincorporated Des Plaines, with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Darma was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe Darma was shot shortly after he got into a vehicle in a nearby parking lot and that the teens were involved in the shooting, according to the news release.

Christopher Mota, 17, of Waukegan, was charged with murder and was denied bond Wednesday.
