Broadway sounds comes to Oakton during May 9 concert
"Broadway Bound!" takes the stage at Oakton Community College 8 p.m., Thursday, May 9, at the Footlik Theater.
Enjoy a night of show-stopping numbers from beloved American musical theater when the Oakton Community College Choir takes the stage 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the college’s Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Led by Sara Torbeck, Oakton instructor of music, “Broadway Bound!” features vocal students performing solo works from classical, jazz, pop and contemporary music.
“The audience will be treated to selections from Broadway favorites including ‘Chicago,’ ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ ‘Rent’ and ‘The Sound of Music,’ performed by our talented music students,” Torbeck says.

Torbeck is an active performer and vocal instructor in the Chicago area. She regularly performs as a featured soloist and ensemble member with the Chicago Master Singers and St. Michael’s Episcopal Choir.
