Charges Pending In Fatal Crash In Des Plaines
The high-speed crash claimed the life of a 46-year-old man Sunday night.
DES PLAINES, IL — Charges are pending in a high-speed crash that killed a 46-year-old Des Plaines man Sunday night and also seriously injured his 13-year-old son, the Daily Herald reports. Police say the colission occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of Elmhurst and Golf roads when a 2008 Nissan Altima attempted to make a right turn onto Elmhurst Road from a private driveway and was hit by a 2019 Chevrolet Impala.
The Impala was traveling north on Elmhurst Road at a high rate of speed at the time, according to the Daily Herald.
The driver of the Nissan, Alejandro Arzeta, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police said his teenage son was also taken to the same hospital with serious injuries and his condition has since stabilized, according to media reports.

The 33-year-old man driving the Impala sustained serious injuries and was also hospitalized following the crash, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
