A farmers’ market could be returning to Des Plaines, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A few city officials are working to bring back the Des Plaines market that shut down several years ago. Barbara Ryan, executive director of the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told the Tribune “public desire is certainly there” to have a farmers’ market again. She’s working with a committee from Holy Family Medical Center as well as 1st Ward Alderman Patricia Haugeberg on developing the idea.
