Firefighters Rescue Woman, Officers From Des Plaines River
According to report, the police officers who tried helping the woman also had to be rescued.
CHICAGO, IL — Four Schiller Park police officers ended up in the ice-covered Des Plaines River on Sunday evening, when they tried to help a woman in distress. Firefighters later pulled all of them to safety.
Around 6:16 p.m., police and fire crews responded to a person in the Des Plaines River. Officials said police officers arrived first, and heard a woman in distress.
