Flood Warning Continues for Des Plaines, More Illinois Rivers

The flood stage projection for the Des Plaines River was 11.5 feet by 7 a.m. on Friday, April 19, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood warning continues to be in effect for the Des Plaines River and others in northeastern Illinois, the National Weather Service stated on Thursday.

The flood warning is in effect for the following waterways, the National Weather Service stated:

  • Des Plaines River near Des Plaines affecting Cook County.
  • Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake County.
  • Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake County.
  • Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Lake County.
  • Des Plaines River at Riverside affecting Cook County.
  • East Branch of the DuPage River at Bolingbrook affecting Will County.
  • Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry counties.
  • The north branch of the Chicago River at Albany Avenue in Chicago.
