Graco Recalls 1.9M Harness Buckles on Infant Car Seats

Newell Rubbermaid has recalled nearly 2 million harness buckles on certain Graco infant car seats made between July 2010 and May 2013.

Although no injuries have been reported, Graco voluntarily recalled the buckles after some consumers reported difficulty opening them. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted an investigation after hearing those concerns.

In February, Graco recalled about 3.7 belt harnesses on toddler car seats after some consumers reported they didn’t unlatch.

"As the industry leader in baby and parenting essentials, the decisions we make about product safety are far-reaching. We take this responsibility seriously," Laurel Hurd, president of Graco Children's Products, said in a statement.

Graco will supply a free replacement buckle to all concerned consumers, regardless of whether their car seats are impacted by the recall.

Parents and caregivers can continue to use their affected car seats until their replacement buckles arrive, the company said.
