Illinois State Police Investigate Kennedy Expressway Shooting
A young male and female both suffered gunshot wounds, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — The Illinois State Police said they're investigating a reported shooting they said took place at 3:29 a.m. Thursday on I-90 southbound at Diversey Avenue in Chicago. According to ISP, officers responded to that location and talked to victims, including a 19-year-old male occupant of a vehicle who was shot twice and taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. A 20-year-old female occupant suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her leg and was also taken to an area hospital, police said.
Southbound traffic was temporarily diverted off the interstate due to the investigation, but were reopened just before 6:30 a.m.
Police said the incident remains under investigation and additional updates will be released as they become available. Police ask anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any knowledge of it to contact the ISP at 847-294-4400. Callers can remain anonymous.
