Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct after Arguing with Police on Metra Train, More in Wednesday Police Blotter

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Criminal Damage to Property, Graffiti
Newspaper boxes, an electrical box and signage at the Cumberland Metra depot, 485 E. Northwest Highway were vandalized with graffiti, and reported to police at 8:44 a.m. on May 10. The graffiti was photographed, police stated, and a work order to clean it up was completed.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle
The rear window of a vehicle was smashed with a golf-ball-sized rock while it was parked in a parking lot on the 900 block of Beau Drive sometime between 10 p.m. on May 10 and 9:30 a.m. on May 11, police stated. Property loss was estimated at $150.

Disorderly Conduct
Frank P. Klupta, 57, of North Barrington, was charged with disorderly conduct after being escorted off a westbound Metra train at the depot downtown, 1501 Miner St., at 9:01 p.m. on May 11, police stated. Klupta boarded the train at the Irving Park stop, a train conductor told police, according to the report, did not have a ticket, refused to purchase a ticket, and used profanity.
When police asked Klupta to get off the train, police stated, police smelled alcohol on his breath, he refused to get off the train and shouted profanities at the officer. Police eventually escorted Klupta off the train and to the Des Plaines Police Department. Klupta was given a court date of June 27 at Skokie courthouse.
