Man Goes Missing From Des Plaines Nursing Home

The 72-year-old was last seen Friday evening on Ballard Road.

MAINE TOWNSHIP, IL — Police asked the public for help finding a man who went missing last week from a nursing home in unincorporated Des Plaines.

Szymon Tomerski, 72, was last seen around 8 p.m. Friday leaving his home, the Landmark Nursing Home at 9300 W. Ballard Road, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Tomerski was described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, about 170 pounds and with a brown and gray hair, a fair complexion and blue eyes, according to the sheriff's office.

His beard and hair shown have been cut to an unknown length compared to an undated photograph provided by authorities.

Anyone with any knowledge about Tomerski's location was urged to call 911, the Cook County Sheriff's Police at 708-865-4896 or the sheriff's office non-emergency number at 847-635-1188.
