Missing Maine Township Teen Found: Sheriff's Office

The 15-year-old girl went missing after leaving her home shortly after noon on Wednesday.

MAINE TOWNSHIP, IL — Authorities asked the public for help Wednesday night in locating a teen reported missing from unincorporated Des Plaines earlier in the day. The 15-year-old girl was last seen leaving her home around 12:15 p.m., according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office, which described her as "at-risk."

The girl was described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 166 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black leggings and black flip-flops. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart asked anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact sheriff's police at 708-865-4896.

UPDATE: The missing Maine Township teenager was located safe, a spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff's Office said Thursday morning.
