Oakton business author event April 10-11 focuses on leadership
J. Bryan Bennett will present "Leadership! A Prescription for Successfully Improving Leadership" April 10 and 11 at Oakton.

Anyone seeking to become a better leader will have two opportunities to enhance their skills at the free public Oakton Community College Business Book Author Series event, “Leadership! A Prescription for Successfully Improving Leadership,” presented by expert J. Bryan Bennett. Bennett will appear at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue (Room P103), 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the college’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road (Room 1610).
Bennett, the founder and executive director of the Healthcare Center Excellence, is the author of “Prescribing Leadership in Healthcare,” a book that provides insight from his research, Six Sigma process training and his personal leadership journey to provide a proven and comprehensive approach to leadership development. Bennett also is an instructor at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago and Judson University. He teaches courses in business analytics, leadership and marketing.

“Bryan Bennett is of those authors and leaders who is exceptionally inspiring,” notes Scott Becker, publisher of ‘Becker’s Hospital Review,’ in the foreword of Bennett’s book. “He is very gifted and persistent and visionary. I highly recommend hearing Bennett speak and reading and following his leadership book. He is a remarkable person. The world needs more people like Bryan Bennett.”
Bennett is also the author of the forthcoming book, “The Path to Professional Leadership.” He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in science from Butler University.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with Bennett and Oakton business faculty on both nights from 6 to 6:30 p.m. During his presentation from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., Bennett will provide a five-step process for a personalized leadership style based on an individual’s innate qualities and strengths. After his presentation, the author will hold a Q&A session, followed by a book signing.
The event is sponsored by the Oakton Alliance for Lifelong Learning with generous support from the Oakton Educational Foundation.
Oakton’s Business Book Author Series concludes Wednesday, May 1, with Tim Calkins’ “Secrets of Brilliant Business Presentations,” at the college’s Skokie campus.
