DES PLAINES, IL (February 25, 2021) – Planet Fitness hosted the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Power Hour: Be Safe, Get Fit & Don’t Quit with Planet Fit recently, providing chamber members best practices on achieving individual fitness goals, a training demonstration, an update on the fitness center’s current cleaning protocols and a tour of the state-of-the-art facility.

The training session focused on exercises you can do in the gym, at your home and at work, depending on your level of comfortability with working out in a public setting. Chamber members also received a brief workout led by a Planet Fitness trainer in the gym’s 30-minute workout area. Near the end of the event, the attendees received Planet Fitness swag bags and one lucky member received a one-year Black Card membership which was raffled off to close the session.

During the tour, Planet Fitness showcased the enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures put in place due to the pandemic including: no touch check-in, physical distancing measures which included “social fitnessing” of cardio equipment with every other machine turned off, multiple sanitization stations, reduced physical touch points, individual disinfectant bottles, the use of electrostatic back sprayers used to disinfect equipment and more.

“We’ve established an excellent relationship with the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and our team was beyond excited to participate in this session with these local business leaders,” said Chris Short, director of internal and external communications for PLNTF Holdings, the franchisee for the two Des Plaines Planet Fitness locations and sponsor of the Des Plaines Veteran’s Back-to-Work Bootcamp. “The past year has helped emphasize the value of working out and staying healthy, so we encourage everyone to develop a fitness plan that fits their individual needs.”
