Top Breast Cancer Surgeon and Bioethicist to Share Key Findings on Abortion
Conference Urges Women to Take Power Over Own Bodies
Women across America are being disenfranchised and put at risk, according to top breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Angela Lanfranchi and Ian Gentles, Research Director of the deVeber Institute for Bioethics and Social Research. Their findings and conclusions are just part of the impetus behind the Power of Mercy, a one day women's conference coming to the Rosemont Convention Center on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The event, serving thousands of women, will bring together medical, legal, educational and spiritual professionals to advocate on behalf of those who have been under represented and under served for too long.
Lafranchi’s rigorously researched and scientifically documented book, Complications: Abortion's Impact on Women, is one the leading volumes detailing the relationship between abortion and breast cancer. Her studies find strong evidence linking between abortion and breast cancer risks. Work by Gentles, her co-author, supports Lanfranchi’s conclusions. He declares that “abortion is a psychological and physical disaster on women.”
The abortion-breast cancer link and women’s lack of concrete information on the subject is one of the topics to be tackled at the Power of Mercy event. Asked if this is meant to be a pro-life tutorial, conference founder Yvonne Florczak Seeman, explains that the Power of Mercy program is not “pro-life or pro-choice.” It is, she assures, “pro-woman.”

Seeman, who is the CEO of Love From Above Inc., explains the Power of Mercy conference as an opportunity for women to take back their power. Growing up poor and Latina, Seeman found herself powerless and without the resources necessary to survive, let alone thrive, in a society that viewed her as invisible. Despite the odds against her, Seeman made it through and is determined to be part of the solution to empowering women and helping supply them with the resources to lift themselves out of poverty and despair to break vicious cycle of abuse, conquer futility and become empowered. Today, she leads a Power Movement seeking to empower women and end their exploitation by exposing them to solid information from experts like Lafranchi and Gentles.
