Find Out If Your Home's A Historic Landmark In Downers Grove
Downers Grove has a new interactive map to determine whether your home is a piece of the village's history.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove village officials recently unveiled a new tool to help homeowners discover whether or not their house could be a historic landmark. The Historic Resource Application is part of the village's interactive maps library and uses statistical data to identify historic properties.
Residents can now visit this new interactive map and type in their address to see if their home might be a historical landmark in the village. According to a post on the Downers Grove website, the map was made using the following data:
- 2013 Downers Grove Historic Building Survey, which surveyed 965 homes in the Maple and Main Street corridors, Shady Lane Estates, Denburn Woods, and E.H. Prince Subdivision.
- 2009 Downers Grove Historic Preservation Plan, which compiled Downers Grove Historical Properties, Sears Homes, and State of Illinois Historic Architectural and Archaeology Resources Geographic Information System (HAARGIS) buildings
- Statewide HAARGIS survey from the 1970s
