2nd Annual Backpack Drive Seeks Donations For Local Students

Donations are being collected in Evanston, Northbrook and Wilmette through Friday.

Heart Certified Auto Care: HEART Certified Auto Care is proud to announce their second annual backpack drive in partnership with Fill a Heart 4 Kids. New backpacks are being collected at their three locations in Northbrook, Wilmette, and Evanston through August 9 when they will be gathered and delivered to Fill a Heart 4 Kids for distribution to local students.

Fill a Heart 4 Kids is a local Chicago area charity that works with businesses and individuals in the community to provide assistance to homeless youths and foster children. In 2018, they helped over 1,350 homeless and foster children throughout Cook and Lake Counties by donating school supplies, meals, winter clothes, and more to them.

“At HEART we care about family, community, and helping those around us,” noted Brian Moak, owner of HEART Certified Auto Care. “With the new school year just around the corner, countless students in our area could head off to class without the supplies they need. This backpack drive is one way we can give back to help the students in our community have the tools they need to succeed.”

During last year’s backpack drive, HEART donated eight boxes of backpacks. Their goal for this year is to donate at least ten boxes. There are several community programs that HEART is involved with, including Toys for Tots, local food and coat drives, and mentoring at risk youths in the area. HEART appreciates any help for the local students through new backpack donations at any of the three HEART locations in Evanston, Wilmette, and Northbrook now until August 9.
