3 Evanston Establishments Fail Liquor License Checks
Which local businesses sold alcohol to undercover state agents?

EVANSTON, IL — Three Evanston businesses sold liquor to underage patrons out of 14 checked during a compliance check on Wednesday carried out by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and the Evanston Police Department, according to a release. Two establishments with prior violations were re-tested for compliance and passed. The violators include two casual restaurants and a new "all-day lounge" that serves cocktails starting at 11 a.m.
Liquor commission agents carry out operations using underage participants recruited from local high schools and colleges who randomly visit liquor stores, bars and restaurants to check for compliance with state law forbidding the sale of alcohol to people under 21.
