Watch 'The Snow Queen, or When Christmas Freezes Over'
Previews Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Piccolo Theatre, 600 Main St.
Piccolo presents a new take on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairytale, The Snow Queen, including new music, dancing and characters that will make you laugh. Preview tickets are $15; call 847-424-0089 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

See Pocahontas at the Evanston Public Library
2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at EPL Chicago Ave./Main St. Branch, 900 Chicago Ave.
Get the kids out of the house to watch the Disney classic about Pocahontas and Captain John Smith for free at the library. 

Check Out the Evanston History Center's Open House
1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Evanston History Center, 225 Greenwood St.
Explore the historic lakeside mansion, decorated for the holidays, and enjoy holiday treats, crafts for kids and live music in the Great Hall. The event is free, but donations will be accepted for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
