Evanston Native Shares Expat Experience in First Novel

M. Henderson Ellis, who moved to the North Shore as an infant, used a lot of his life experiences working at Starbucks and living in Eastern Europe in his debut novel Keeping Bedlam At Bay in the Prague Café, which shares the life of an American expat trying to find himself and a job in the post-Communist years while living in the former Soviet empire, Evanston RoundTable reported. 

Ellis, who moved to Wilmette after living in Evanston as kid, says he found the move a difficult transition and preferred the diversity, open and fun cultures of Evanston, often returning to the area on weekends where the punk and rap music scenes were more alive, Evanston RoundTable reported.
