Car Burglars Hit North Evanston Neighborhood

The information in this blotter was reported by Evanston Police on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following information was reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Garage Burglars Hit Brown, Grant, Noyes
Someone broke the door of a garage in the 2100 block of Brown Avenue between 3:30 and 4:20 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, according to police. Nothing was reported missing.

Someone entered an unlocked garage in the 2200 block of Grant Street and stole a silver and green Specialized mountain bicycle between 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, and 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, police reported.

Someone entered the unlocked window of a garage in the 2000 block of Noyes Street and stole a Craftsman cordless drill and bits between 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, and 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, according to police. 

Car Burglars Steal Sawzall, Michael Kors Purse
Someone broke the window of a 2000 Chevrolet parked in an alley in the 2200 block of Payne Street and stole a Milwaukee sawzall and blades between 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, and 6:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, police reported.

Someone stole a Michael Kors purse and Garmin GPS from a 2011 Nissan parked in the street in the 400 block of Sherman Avenue between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, according to police. 

Two Charged With Retail Theft
Umer Ali Quereshi, 28, of the 6500 block of North Sacramento Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he stole something from the Target at 2209 Howard St. at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, according to police. 

Norma E. Fuentes, 37, of the 3300 block of West Pensacola Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she stole something from the Jewel-Osco at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, police reported. 

Movers Steal Jewelry On Michigan
A woman told police that she believes jewelry was stolen from her counter by movers at her home in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue between 2 and 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to police.
