Cheapest Gas In Evanston: 2 Stations Win By Far

EVANSTON, IL — Two gas stations in Evanston take the top spot on the cheapest gas in town list, according to gas price tracking website GasBuddy.com. There's a 44-cent gap between Sam's Club and Food4Less, both at $2.13, and Shell at $2.57.

As of Dec. 6, Illinois gas costs an average of $2.29 per gallon, while the U.S. average sits at $2.43.

Most of the cheapest gas in Illinois is in the Champaign area, save for a couple stations further north. The Costco in Mettawa has gas for $1.92 while the Food4Less in Crest Hill and the Naval Exchange at Naval Station Great Lakes have gas for $1.94.
